On November 5, 2022, CESRUD partnered with RUCOMEF to carry out a free Medical outreach at the Idere Model Primary Health Center, Idere, Ibarapa Central Area Council, Oyo State.
This was a follow up to the previous outreach held on November 20, 2021.
PARTICIPATION
In all 32 People participated in the outreach; this included 4 Medical Doctors, 2 Nurse/Midwives, 1 Optometrist, 8 Community Health Extension Workers, 1 Medical Laboratory Technologist, , 2 Medical Students, 1 Media personnel, and 13 other personnel who served in the Registration, Protocol/Logistics, Counseling and Teenage Departments.
ACTIVITIES
Here is the breakdown of activities:
Outpatient Medical consultations – There were 301 Outpatient Medical consultations. These included:
- 51 Malaria cases,
- 44 Hypertensive cases,
- 43 cases of Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal pains,
- 24 cases of Upper Respiratory Tract Infection,
- 10 cases of Peptic Ulcer Disease,
- 4 surgical cases (3 Hernias and 1 sub-acute Appendicitis) – who were booked for a free Surgical outreach, to hold at Idere at Christmas.
Eyes Consultations – There were 87 eye consultations; with 55 free eye glasses dispensed.
Laboratory Investigations – 36 patients had laboratory investigations including – 5 Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDT), 24 Blood Sugar tests, 3 Urinalysis tests, 5 Hepatitis B and 7 HIV screenings.
The King of Idere was also attended to in his Palace. His B.P and Blood Sugar were checked and free drugs were given to him.
